What Is Sustainability?
The term “sustainability” means meeting the needs of the present generation in such a way that does not compromise the needs of future generations. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social.
Sustainable development is one of the needs of today. Sustainability encourages businesses and corporations to adopt policies that are beneficial for the long run and not just from the business perspective but rather the planet earth and the future generations as well. However, there are several challenges around sustainability; prominently in the energy generation sector which is primarily focused on finding new reserves for the energy generation. This can be tackled through investment in green and clean sources for energy. If we don’t take action today we might run out of our natural resources sooner than predicted.
